Temp/Casual GIM Research Project Assistant
About the Job:
The primary purpose of this position is to support clinical research projects in the Department of Medicine, specifically the Division of General Internal Medicine.
Job Duties
25 to 75% Enter data on study participants from surveys, medical records, and other sources as applicable into computer systems per sponsor requirements; maintaining databases; filing
Screen patients for eligibility
Consent patients for study
Other needs related to recruitment, retention, and data entry
Prepare summary data to track recruitment, or present
25 to 75% Run errands for the study team as needed
5% Prepare forms and/or other materials for participant visits
Work Schedule:
Flexible, to be discussed with supervisor upon hiring
Required Qualifications:
A current or prospective student at the University of Minnesota
experience in the use of computer software such as the Microsoft Office suite of programs
Detail oriented, able to follow strict protocols, motivated
Strong communication skills
Strong interest in clinical research and/or medical career pathway
Willing to ask questions if uncertain
Preferred Qualifications:
Willing to occasionally work on evenings and weekends if this would be helpful to the study
Previous course work or job experience with medical terminology
Previous course work in basic biological sciences
Experience/background in a medical setting
Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical records systems
Pay Range: $15.25 – $23.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
