Severe Accident Analysis is a pivotal part of the design and safety justification of each of our nuclear propulsion plants and is vital in ensuring that we meet regulatory requirements. The severe accident analysis team develops models of the reactor plant and containment and uses these to conduct technical analysis of the behaviour of the reactor plant in severe accident scenarios. The results of these simulations are used to:
The severe accident team undertakes a wide range of different analysis, that touches upon multiple disciplines. In addition to undertaking analytical work to support the safety case and regulatory requirements for current campaigns, there is also the opportunity to be involved in the development of new analytical methods and research opportunities to develop capability in new analytical codes.What you will be doing:You will be accountable for the delivery of delegated major technical work packages to agreed time, quality, and cost. This will include severe accident analysis across the entire reactor and plant lifecycle, from concept and design stages through to In-Service support and decommissioning. Responsibilities include:
