The Nurse Educator is responsible for assisting with the development & execution of healthcare educational programs and orientation of clinical personnel. The incumbent will orchestrate these programs based on organizational priorities and will work in close collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues to design and implement evidence-based programs to support these priorities.

DUTIES:

  • Evaluates overall medical educational program effectiveness.

  • Serve as an instructor, mentor and role model for staff in the healthcare profession.

  • Collaborate with managers, directors, the SVP of Residential and Educational Services, Academic agencies, hospital affiliates and other disciplines to plan, implement and evaluate continuing education programs as well as care planning.

  • Assist clients, caregivers, and staff with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management.

  • Collaborate with medical providers, client care staff, and unit management in the planning, implementation, and delivery of educational curricula and client care.

  • Develop patient care plans, incorporating evidenced-based research and national standards.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    An active BSN/Registered Nurse license required. 3-5 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting and previous teaching or supervisory experience preferred. Preferred current Certified CRMA instructor in the State of Maine, or willingness to do so.
