Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced OEM – Business Development Manager to take responsibility for the delivery of the sales and profit budget in agreed targets, operating within specific channels. The role will be responsible for strategic OEM account management and sale of products from the Company’s range that is particularly OEM’s.

What you’ll do:

  • Fully understand the customer base specifically in Rail, Hygienic, Hazardous OEM’s, specialist distribution, End User, Installers, and any other relevant accounts e.g., influencers that operate within the UK as appropriate.
  • Take ownership and management of specific strategic OEM accounts as defined by the Sales Director.
  • Take ownership of specific vertical markets and key projects defined by the Sales Director.
  • Provide market analysis and analysis of competitors range and activity.
  • Product and Industry knowledge with OEM’s essential.
  • Work closely with Unistrut & Marco National Business Development Manager on synergy to ensure Flexicon are aligned with strategic opportunities.
  • Identify and influence the opportunity to restate the brand and organisation as true market leader across all Atkore brands.
  • Understand the need to identify different sales strategies for different installations, applications and customers.
  • Work within the company’s defined pricing policy and discount structure.
  • Develop relationships with the key personnel within the customer base at the right level.
  • Fully utilise and contribute to the market intelligence within the business to open up business opportunities.
  • Always understand where you are/need to be, in order to achieve sales targets.
  • Understand the need to continually increase business knowledge and learn new skills through a combination of training and personal development.
  • Work in an integrated manner with key colleagues, specifically the UK and Export Sales Teams, Marketing Management, Technical Management and Commercial Management.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the sales strategy, as identified as part of the Company’s SDP, specifically new products, new market opportunities, marketing campaigns and Synergy with other Atkore brands Inc Unistrut Marco and Vergokan.
  • Ensure that Flexicon locally owns the supply process from initial enquiry to order placement.
  • Ensure that the external sales team is kept informed of any developments relevant to their accounts/areas.
  • Provide, on a monthly basis, a report of activity including successes, opportunities and market requirements to achieve the company’s goals.
  • Follow Company Procedure regarding all administrative aspects of the role completing administrative tasks on an on-going basis.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duty as requested by your manager.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent within engineering, business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles within OEM .
  • Product and Industry knowledge with OEM’s essential.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Commercial experience with proven ability to increase sales in key accounts and industrial markets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience of working in industrial manufacturing is essential
  • Ability to travel nationally as & when required.
