The internship is an opportunity offered by the Office of Intercultural Development. The primary purpose of this paid internship is to gain leadership experience, promote cultural awareness, and encourage unity.

May be eligble for Federal Work Study.

Qualifications

Current undergraduate student at Lipscomb University in good standing with the university

Have a minimum of a 2.75 GPA

Entering at least their 2nd year as a Lipscomb Student (sophomore, junior, or senior year).

Committed to diversity, social justice, and encouraging the development of skills to talk about difficult topics (i.e. race, religion, socioeconomic status, etc.)

Available to work at least 10 hours a week

Interested in utilizing marketing and communication skills to advance the goals outlined in the OID mission and vision statements

Aware of programs and resources both on and off-campus

Willing to attend and promote major campus events

Responsibilities

The internship responsibilities appear below. However, we will consider each person’s interests and areas of expertise in determining specific responsibilities.

Attend regularly scheduled leadership trainings and meetings

Manage the content, messaging, and updates of OID social media platforms, calendars, and websites

Organize, coordinate, and implement campus-wide educational/formative programs, events, and activities that promote diverse perspectives (i.e., breakout chapel, cultural trivia nights, etc.)

Develop and manage student response and feedback methods for programs, events, and activities

Encourage and drive student engagement with OID

Provide necessary marketing and advertising for office programs, events, and activities

Serve as an overall resource to OID staff

Coordinate times for OID students to participate in community service opportunities (ie. MLK Day of Service)

Attend recruiting/new student events on behalf of OID

Assist in planning the major OID events (Cultural Awareness Events)

Manage front desk duties
