Gomshall Fire Station is looking for dedicated individuals to join us as On-Call Firefighters. This unique role allows you to protect your local area while balancing other commitments or full-time employment.As an On-Call Firefighter, you’ll be part of a highly trained team, responding to emergencies and supporting your community in meaningful ways.What You’ll Do

• Deliver community safety initiatives: Engage with schools, youth clubs, and local organisations to provide fire safety advice and education.
• Respond to emergencies: Be ready to tackle fires, assist at road, rail, or air collisions, help during widespread flooding, and manage incidents involving hazardous materials.
• Support operational readiness: Conduct fire hydrant inspections, maintain and test equipment, and carry out general station duties.

EligibilityTo join our team at Gomshall Fire Station, you must:

• Live or work within four to seven minutes of the station, travelling by foot or vehicle at normal road speeds.
• Be available to respond for a minimum of 54 hours a week. (Learn more under the ‘Your working week’ section).
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Hold a valid manual (Cat B) driving licence.
