School of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank/Open Track faculty colleague for a
full-time position with clinical and academic responsibilities in the Division
of General and Community Pediatrics.
Clinical duties are in a busy outpatient group practice. This
includes primary care for the community, including children with complex
medical conditions and/or social situations, resident continuity clinic and
urgent care teaching clinic. Primary
care clinics have NCQA PCMH (patient-centered medical home) recognition. The
Urgent Care Clinic acuity includes evaluation and management of patients who
may require admission to the PICU and hospitalist services. Inpatient duties
include newborn and/or intermediate care nursery. Clinical responsibilities include
a share of weekday, evening, weekend and holiday hours as well as overnight
parent telephone advice call. Schedules are organized 6-12 months in advance.
In this position the successful candidate will care for patients
ranging in age from birth through adolescence, in an ethnically and medically
diverse population. Also, this position will be involved in bedside teaching
and other resident and medical student education. There is an expectation for engagement in
scholarly activities.
Minimum
Qualification:
- Board
certified or board eligible in pediatric medicine by time of hire. - Ability
to obtain a New Mexico medical license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical experience in a pediatric academic or private practice setting that provides preventive and chronic healthcare, as well as care for acute and urgent problems.
- Experience supervising residents and medical students.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish.
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
