New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a
faculty member to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep
Medicine. This position is for an Open
Rank, open track. Salary and rank will
be commensurate with experience and education. This position will be primarily located at the
University of New Mexico Hospital but you will also rotate at our sister
hospital in Sandoval County.

Center is the largest academic health complex in the state. HSC combines its
four mission areas – education, research, patient care and community outreach –
to provide New Mexicans with the highest level of health care. The School of
Medicine at HSC is celebrated for its innovations in medical education and has
earned a reputation for making diversity in the physician workforce a priority. Our faculty are major contributors to the education of
medical students and residents at UNM. As
the only academic medical center for the state, only level one trauma center,
this is an amazing opportunity for innovation in teaching and providing care
for both rural and urban populations from diverse cultures. Critical care facilities include a 24-bed
medical intensive care unit, 24-bed trauma surgical intensive care unit and
24-bed neuroscience intensive care unit but we anticipate moving into the new
Critical Care Tower with a total of 96 ICU beds in 2025.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be board certified in Internal Medicine; and
- MD or DO or MBBS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education of fellows and house
staff in pulmonary and critical care medicine - Scholarly activity or quality improvement projects
- Board eligible/certified in Pulmonary
- Board eligible/certified in
Critical Care Medicine - A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student
success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
This
