It is a non-governmental international organization founded in 2012 by a volunteer initiative of a group of volunteers to contribute to helping communities affected by humanitarian crises around the world. It is classified as a humanitarian organization working in the humanitarian field and is registered in Sweden, Turkey, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom. It implements its programs in the Middle East through its regional offices registered as the IRVD in Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq, and Somalia. Under the name of Alameen in Syria, Yemen, Palestine, Sudan, and Egypt. The organization has worked to organize its management of humanitarian activities and programs in the countries of the Middle East in the most critical sectors of humanitarian work, which are:

Job Description

IRVD is seeking an Operations Coordinator who will manage all IRVD-related activities in Yemen, including procurement, logistics, and management of warehouse staff

Responsibilities:

1. Planning and Coordination

  • Develop detailed action plans for implementing field activities in collaboration with other teams.
  • Coordinate logistical operations and ensure necessary resources are available for field teams.
  • Communicate with various departments to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.

2. Field Operations Management

  • Supervise field activities and provide support to resolve challenges faced by teams.
  • Ensure operations adhere to humanitarian standards and best practices.
  • Monitor project and program implementation to ensure achievement of planned objectives.

3. Logistics Management

  • Oversee inventory and supplies management, ensuring timely delivery to field teams.
  • Coordinate transportation operations, including safe movement of field staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols in all field activities.

4. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Prepare regular reports on field operations progress and submit them to management.
  • Contribute to needs assessments and context analysis to prioritize interventions.
  • Provide recommendations for performance improvement and operational efficiency.

5. Relationship Management

  • Liaise with local authorities, partners, and beneficiaries to ensure effective collaboration and support for field operations.
  • Represent the organization in field meetings and workshops as required.

Ability to:

  • Ability to work in a stressful setting and adapt quickly to changing environments
  • Ability to conduct work in a professional and mature manner
  • Ability to mentoring and training; experience in supervising staff desirable
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively and work under pressure with deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and field locations.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Economics, Political Science, Polytechnics, International cooperation, Business Administration, Humanitarian studies. ​

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in coordination and management positions in emergency humanitarian contexts​Experience working with relief and rehabilitation NGOs or an agency in the humanitarian aid field.
  • Experience in the planning, coordination and supervision of large operations in complex emergency contexts
  • Strong managerial and planning skills

Languages:

  • Arabic and English are mandatory (oral and written)

Promote and encourage a culture of compliance and ethics throughout IRVD. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of IRVD and donor compliance and ethics standards and adhere to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. Communicate these values to staff and partners and require them to adhere to them.

Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within IRVD

and amongst beneficiaries served by IRVD
