Operational Buyer

As our Global Operational Buyer (full-time, hybrid) for Indirect IT and Professional Services you will actively participate in the sourcing activities with the goal of achieving cost reductions, while maintaining or improving quality or vendor service levels. You will work closely together with the Global Sourcing Managers who are responsible for the global sourcing strategy for a specific range of services. Your focus will be split across long term projects such as assisting in preparing and coordinating bids, as well as operational activities such as monitoring the purchasing process and negotiate with suppliers. 

About the role

As Operational Buyer, you have a key role in our organization. You will interact with sites, suppliers and colleagues from all over the globe on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, you will also: 

  • Actively participate in the sourcing activities for HR and Consultancy and Travel service and sub-categories
  • Issue purchase orders and call-offs
  • Work and support Global Sourcing Manager (HR, Consultancy and Travel) to implement strategies and implementation of initiatives
  • Provide sourcing efforts which are implemented in a timely manner that results in bottom-line savings
  • Follow up on orders to ensure that services are delivered on time
  • Address & solve issues during the sourcing process
  • Analyze processes and share learnings within the organization
  • Review, prepare, verify and approve financial and business transactions within established frameworks and guidelines.

Languages: Excellent command of English with a combination of any other language can be of an advantage. 

About you:

  • Procurement and purchasing processes experience – minimum 2 to 3 years /Graduate school desirable
  • Analytical skills and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and at all levels of the organization
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong Excel, Word, Power Point and SAP capabilities
  • Experience within HR, Consultancy and Travel services an advantage

Location: ICL European Headquarters, Koningin Wilhelminaplein 30, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
