JOB PURPOSE
To support all Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM & PR) activities and contribute to the development and presentation of a standard and consistent operating picture of
WFP Pakistan activities and associated results, in order to facilitate informed and timely decision making and advocacy, and communicate achievements internally and with external stakeholders.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
Based in the WFP Country Office in Islamabad and reporting to the Head of Partnerships but working closely with WFP management and Head of Programme. Job holders operate with a high degree of independence, manage more junior staff to ensure that programme and policy objectives are achieved in full. They are usually involved in a wide variety of programme and policy activities and analytical work, some of which may be of considerable complexity. At this level job holders are expected to contribute to performance improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
1. Ensure that standard OIM & PR procedures and templates are followed to drive the quality, consistency and standardisation of information management and performance reporting across WFP.
2. Support the coordination of the Annual Country Report (ACR) for the Annual Reporting Exercise in collaboration with the country office programme, monitoring & evaluation, logistics and resource
management functions to ensure coherence and quality of performance results.
3. Prepare reporting products for the Country Office, including, but not limited to, country briefs, situation reports, executive director briefs and daily operational briefs; in collaboration with the country
office programme, monitoring & evaluation, logistics and resource management functions to ensure coherence and quality of information.
4. Collate data and contribute or lead in the preparation of accurate and timely reporting to donors on WFP programmes by engaging with internal and external stakeholders, to enable informed decision-making and action planning by senior stakeholders.
5. Provide support on coordination, data, and analysis to facilitate effective solicitation of contributions, donor stewardship, and assessment of results.
6. Support the CO in emergencies by preparing, organising and providing secretarial support to Operational Task Forces (OTFs).
7. Collaborate with counterparts internally and with other UN agencies to ensure consistency in humanitarian information and to complement WFP analysis and information.
8. Support the enhancement of the capacity of WFP staff and partners to effectively manage operational information and performance reporting by assisting in the delivery of the OIM & PR training on core
competencies.
9. Guide and supervise more junior staff as required, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with more complex analysis and queries.
10. Other as required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education:
Advanced University degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management,Journalism, Business Management or Social Sciences OR first level University degree with additional 2 years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
Experience:
Minimum of five years or more of professional/managerial experience in the relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development.
Knowledge & Skills:
understanding of the basic theoretical background.
Language:
Fluency (level C) in English language and Urdu; knowledge of local language is desirable.
