Short Description

• The primary role is to contribute to the detection, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with disorders of the visual system and/or eye motility.
• The Orthoptists work independently within their scope of practice and collaborates with other members of the health care team that may include but is not limited to physicians, learners, technicians, technologists and administrative staff.
• With the addition of a new neuro-ophthalmologist to the Cooper Neurology team in August 2021, and Orthoptist will be essential to the support and evaluation of their patient population.

experience Required

0-2 years’ experience required.

3-5 years’ experience preferred.

education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.

License/Certification Requirements

Certified Orthoptist required.

Graduate from an accredited Orthoptic Program required.

Completion of Orthoptics Fellowship training preferred.

Special Requirements

Field of study – Orthoptics

Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers required

Experience with ophthalmic equipment and technologies required.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively required.
