Inova Health Children’s is looking for a dedicated Outpatient Lactation Consultant to join the team. This role will be full time day shift from Monday – Friday (30 hours per week)

Outpatient Lactation Consultant Job Responsibilities:

• Combines expert clinical experience with dedicated, personalized care to allow each mother to find the best version of breastfeeding success for herself and her baby.
• Evaluates maternal history, patient medical and clinical information, and assesses patient/parent needs to develop and implement the most appropriate lactation plan of care.
• Applies scientific knowledge to the process of diagnosis and treatment.
• Instructs patients and caregivers on lactation plan.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing- or Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition-or Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• Licensure: International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. RN current licensure to practice as Registered Nurse by VA Board of Nurse Examiners or Registered Dietician
• Experience: 2 years of lactation experience
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.
