Primary Function of Organizational Unit
Parking Services manages the University’s parking resources by providing campus access to the campus community, visitors and our guests. We are committed to a safe and orderly parking environment through enforcement of parking rules and regulations. We are a customer service driven department.
Primary Purpose of Position
This position is point of contact person for the Parking Division. This position handles Parking Related questions/issues that may derive from students/staff/faculty/administrators and visitors. This position has knowledge of the policies and standard operating procedures of the Parking Department.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of using computers and hand held devices; knowledge of properly operate all equipment needed to perform job function and report issues if not functioning immediately; knowledge of the operations of the organizational and familiarity with the infrastructure of the assigned area (e.g., buildings, location of exists etc.); knowledge of understand parking and transportation rules and regulations; ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts; ability to transmit radio messages using established protocols and procedures; ability to issue citations; ability to assist in emergency response; ability to provide support for special events; ability to control and direct traffic of people and vehicles; ability to erect barricades; ability to provide motorist assistance; ability to work independently with little or no supervision; requires initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; will learn, interpret and analyze information to generate appropriate decisions; exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; plan, prioritize and organize workflow; excellent analytical and organizational skills are required; excellent written, proofing and editing skills along with great oral communication skills are required; great interpersonal skills are an asset to interface effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment
Minimum Education/experience
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies
Required Competency Knowledge – Program
Duties
This position assists with administrative support for the Parking program processes. The position is also responsible for general office operations that include requisitioning of goods and services, processing contracting services, and office needs. Issuing parking decals etc.
Required Competency Customer Service
Duties
This position is the primary contact for customers for the Parking Department. This position will ensure compliance with university and departmental regulations on customer service
Required Competency Data/Information/Records Administration
Duties
This position is responsible for primary vendor contact for Parking. This positions services as front line contact for appropriate research and resource for vendors questions and comments. This position also process vendor payments and requisitions for procurement.
Required Competency Office Technology
Duties
This position uses various software and hardware components such as Microsoft Office, all Banner Modules of Internet Native Banner (INB), and Student Services Banner.
