As a Part Handler at Norlen, a Ryerson family of companies, you will be responsible for preparing parts for paint which includes hanging and removing parts from the paint line. This position is 1stshift, Monday through Thursday, 5am – 3pm.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Understands and performs assembly, hanging, unhanging and shipping procedures
• Understands the quality requirements and notifies the supervisor or corrects all situations that may result in a nonconforming part
• Observes paint line operation to detect defects or machine malfunction
• Keeps work area clean and organized
• Reads and understands job order or product specifications
• Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment – evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Has a high school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalant work experience
• Is knowledgeable of the function and capability of equipment and systems necessary for an automated powder paint line
• Can follow instruction
• Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding
