The consulting position will be based in Pakistan

In Pakistan, PATH is leading a technical assistance consultancy to support the development of a national multisectoral nutrition proposal, funded by the Lives and Livelihoods Fund (LLF) and aligned with the Government of Pakistan’s PC-I framework. The consultancy is focused on designing high-impact, equity-centered nutrition interventions aligned with national and provincial strategies, while also integrating gender, climate, and systems strengthening components.

The Nutrition Specialist will provide technical leadership across all nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive elements of the proposal. This includes reviewing and aligning proposed interventions with the PC-I and provincial stunting reduction plans, contributing to the Theory of Change and Results-Based Management (RBM) framework, and ensuring relevance and feasibility of community and facility-based interventions. The consultant will also advise on behavior change strategies, food systems, maternal and child health linkages, and delivery mechanisms across key platforms such as schools, health facilities, and social protection systems.

Consultant Activities:

Nutrition Strategy and Intervention Design

• Review national documents (PC-I, MSNNAP, Vision 2025) and provincial strategies to identify priority areas for nutrition programming.
• Recommend a package of evidence-based nutrition-specific and -sensitive interventions tailored to local needs and health system capacity.
• Provide technical input on stunting prevention, micronutrient supplementation (IFA, MNPs), IYCF, school-based nutrition, adolescent health, and social protection linkages.

Integration into RBM Framework and MEL

• Support development of nutrition-related outputs, outcomes, and indicators within the Theory of Change and Logical Framework.
• Advise on disaggregation and feasibility of data collection for nutrition indicators.
• Ensure integration of nutrition priorities in monitoring, learning, and sustainability sections.

Collaboration and Review

• Coordinate with gender, climate, and governance leads to ensure coherence across thematic areas.
• Participate in internal reviews of deliverables to provide technical quality assurance.
• Contribute to drafting of narrative sections, annexes, and responses to LLF feedback.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Participate in meetings with government, development partners, and technical working groups.
• Provide technical talking points or briefs for stakeholder engagement as needed.
• Help validate recommendations with in-country stakeholders and support alignment with current initiatives.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Nutrition or a related degree preferred
• At least 10 years of experience in nutrition program management, working with federal and provincial bodies in Pakistan
• Experience working with international agencies
