Performs a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision. Reports to a Laboratory Supervisor. Responsibilities include receipt, accessioning, centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens, and communicating with clinicians at the Front Window and over the phone.

Essential Functions
-Assist with labeling, preservation and fixation of specimens.
-Work closely with technologists to ensure specimens are processed timely and accurately.
-Monitor reagent and supply inventory.
-Organize patient specimen and assay worksheets/printouts for testing and technologist review.
-Use LIMS to upload documents and input critical data or comments.
-Clean and maintain lab equipment.

Licenses and Credentials
Experience
Previous laboratory, healthcare and/or customer service experience 1-2 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
– Good interpersonal and communication skills so as to be able to interact effectively with individuals in the lab and the hospital.
– Ability to multitask and work accurately under stress of time constraints and heavy workload demands.
– Demonstrates excellent dependability, reliability, accuracy, prioritization ability, problem solving skills, customer service and teamwork.
