Job Description

This position at the School of Dance is being filled through OU’s PEAK Temporary Staffing Services.

This position on the Norman campus supports growth in enrollment through student recruitment, admissions, and retention for School of Dance undergraduate degree programs in classical ballet (with performance or pedagogy as an emphasis) and modern dance – which include the Ballet Pedagogy Bachelor of Fine Arts, Ballet Performance Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Modern Dance Performance Bachelor of Fine Arts students on the Norman campus. It also helps to coordinate recruitment events, develop and maintain systems for undergraduate scholarship audition ratings in coordination with the School of Dance faculty, and helps to ensure all required undergraduate forms and deadlines are met for auditioning students. Additionally, the position will maintain social media and other promotional engagement platforms to promote recruitment efforts for the School of Dance. Provides direct support to Bachelor of Fine Arts program coordinators.

Duties include:

  • Coordinate recruiting events through the Get Accept’d platform to promote dance degrees to prospective students.
  • Develop high-level knowledge of dance programs to represent the school in the community to potential students.
  • Develop engaging recruitment materials for use in recruitment activities and to circulate via social media and other channels.
  • Maintaining websites, social media, and other promotional engagement platforms to promote recruitment efforts and performances for the School of Dance.
  • Coordinate, establish, and deliver some programs for recruitment, School of Dance campus tours in conjunction with class schedules, open houses, orientations, and other student events.
  • Meet with prospective undergraduate and graduate students in person, by phone, and Zoom.
  • Oversee the Undergraduate admissions process by disseminating admission information, maintaining regular communication with applicants, and analyzing admission data to update and inform the administrators.
  • Manage communication to current students, prospective students, and external stakeholders: informational items, deadlines, enrollment, financial aid opportunities, program changes and events.
  • Develop and maintain systems for undergraduate scholarship audition ratings in coordination with School of Dance faculty.
  • Maintain and update student audition records in Excel.
  • Serve on committees related to admissions, enrollment, and recruitment as needed.
  • Serves as liaison between other colleges, admissions and records, information technology and other relevant local, regions, and national associations.
  • Serves as a member of various project teams and may lead projects.
  • Performs additional various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

Job Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s Degree; AND:

12 months of admissions or recruitment experience

Departmental Preferences:

  • Experience with Higher Education.
  • Experience in recruitment.
  • Experience in Excel.

Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in navigating and maintaining excel spreadsheets.
  • Some travel required for recruiting.
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
  • Highly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate well and build rapport with students, faculty and staff.
  • Ability to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations.
  • Customer service skills.
