Job Description Summary
Provides health care services on a full-time or part-time basis in an owned or affiliated health care entity of Penn Medicine. Provides inpatient hospital services as required and fulfills all medico-administrative duties associated with membership on each hospital medical staff of which clinician is a member. May participate in a minimum of 50 hours per year of active and high quality teaching or equivalent service. Performs prompt, courteous and competent professional services in accordance with generally accepted professional standards for such services and with the standards established from time to time. Maintains license to practice medicine without restriction or limitation in Pennsylvania or location of affiliates, if applicable.
The Optometrist is responsible for patient care primarily of well eye visits at a rate and manner that maintains the schedule and the highest standard of quality care. The Optometrist will care for between 30-40 patients/day, using the EMR in providing primarily refractive care for scheduled patients and walk-in patients needing refraction, contact lens, glasses check and education. In addition, the Optometrist may also assist the Ophthalmologists examining patients for medical reasons in various capacities as requested.

Qualifications
O.D.; License to practice Optometry without restriction or limitation in Pennsylvania; DEA Licensure. 3-5 years experience as a licensed Optometrist preferred.
