The People & Culture team is looking for an intern to support the Team at Information Communication Technology Division (ICTD). The Intern will have the opportunity to learn about UNICEF’s mission, its various programs, and how it operates globally, while being exposed to working in an international environment. This role will further develop analytical and transactional skills while allowing participation in interesting initiatives. 

The Intern will support the People and Culture Team (former Human Resources) in various HR Activities including but not limited to onboarding support to new joiners, preparing data analytics and reporting, and event organization activities. The Intern will also assist with communications and preparation of advocacy material about various HR topics, the maintenance of the People & Culture internal SharePoint pages and any ad hoc reporting.  

The intern will be responsible for assisting in People & Culture event organizations such as induction programmes and will help to organize information about learning activities. 

This may involve: 

  • Support the Onboarding activities by coordinating with different stakeholders, keeping track and scheduling the Onboarding sessions 
  • Support HR events such as coordinating the ICTD Induction 
  • Support the HR data analysis and ad hoc reporting 
  • Support coordination of meetings and workshops as needed 

Draft HR communications 

  • Assist the HR Manager with coordinating learning opportunities for staff 
  • Assist with the SharePoint pages of the HR Team 
  • Other support activities, to be determined 

As an advocate for every child, you will have… 

  • Current or recent (graduated in the last 2 years) enrollment in a university programme in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics or other related area 
  • Ability to work 40 hrs/week in Valencia, Spain.  
  • Fluency in English is required, Spanish knowledge would be an asset 
  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of software such as but not limited to virtual tools and MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Power BI. 
  • Communication – Effectively presents thoughts and ideas including complex technical concepts, in a clear, concise, and readily understood manner, both verbally and in writing. Listens to and acknowledges others’ perspectives and views 
  • Flexibility – Works effectively on multiple assignments simultaneously and adapts to changing demands and circumstances 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills – able to work well in a team environment 
  • Strong attention to detail with solid planning and organization skills 
  • Client-Orientation 
  • Commitment and drive for results
