Job summary

The Integrated Corporate Services (ICS) is a new shared corporate service, launched in July 2023. It provides corporate services (HR, Finance, Digital, Commercial, Security and Estates) across the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) and the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT). 

Our team of just over 300 professionals will be leading the way in how these functions will be delivered in the future. Our ambition is to be the leading provider of integrated corporate services for government and set the standard for quality, efficiency, and innovation in our field.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the People and Development (P&D) team, we are a small people team that sits within ICS Digital providing people related services, such as recruitment, workforce planning, capability, and rewards. We are looking for an HR professional to provide support our services.

Key Responsibilities

You will need to have great attention to detail and be an effective communicator. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across teams to resolve HR-related issues. You will be methodical, ensuring that your work is error-free and prioritised effectively.

Recruitment: Manage recruitment campaigns, including submitting relevant forms, managing the inbox, and communicating with candidates. 

Onboarding: Ensure all onboarding actions for new starters are complete, such as sending the induction pack, and adding new starters to the distribution list. 

Workforce Data Management: Update the Directorate’s database and organogram, and provide support with Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and commissions. 

Communications: Support Directorate-wide communications, such as staff updates and newsletters.

Administrative Support : Provide administrative support in all people-related areas.

Skills and Experience

Essential criteria:

  • Experience with administration of recruitment campaigns, preferably in the public sector. 
  • Attention to detail, particularly when working with data. 
  • Ability to use your own initiative to resolve issues.
  • Experience managing competing priorities. 
  • Associate CIPD membership or willing to work towards within the first 6 months of starting the role.
  • Proactively manage your personal development and identify skills gaps.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in a digital or technology environment.

Office attendance

The Department operates a discretionary hybrid working policy, which provides for a combination of working hours from your place of work and from your home in the UK. The current expectation for staff is to attend the office or non-home based location for 40-60% of the time over the accounting period.
