The expected hiring range for this position is:

$109,100.00-$185,167.00.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

What your day-to-day as a Physicist IV at Fermilab will look like:
* Isolates and defines problems, produces effective solutions and evaluates results.
* Monitors, tests, and evaluates operations of facilities to insure efficient functioning and conformance with safety specifications and regulations.
* Serves as a project manager who establishes and implements top level strategy, objectives, and performance measures for assigned projects, prioritizes work, and determines funding needs and allocation.
* Leads the development of advanced modeling and simulation tools.
* Provides expert advice and assistance to scientists and officials on a wide range of matters.
* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
* Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum of 10+ years post PhD. Appointment is generally for an indefinite period; appointees will usually possess a Ph.D., have completed more than 7 years as an Applications Physicist III, or equivalent experience.

Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Position requires the exercise of scientific and technical judgement. Duties will require Application of advanced experience along with organizational skills and may extend to participation in research subject to approval by Division/Section/Center Head. Assignments have a wide latitude for judgement and responsibility.

Work Arrangement:

Onsite: This is an onsite role, and the candidate must be able to work from our Batavia office. Remote work might be permitted up to two days per week.
