Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for two full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty positions (#144170 and #156150) at the rank of lecturer. These are one-year temporary appointment. The lecturer’s contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointments is August 1, 2025.

The successful candidates will primarily teach introductory physics and astronomy lectures and laboratories.

Required Education

A master’s degree in physics, astronomy, or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.

Other Desirables

Applicants with a PhD in physics, astronomy, or a closely related field by the appointment date will receive special consideration.
