Post-doctoral Fellowship

The Moslehi Lab (https://cardiooncologylab.ucsf.edu) and the Section of cardio-oncology & immunology at UCSF (https://ucsfhealthcardiology.ucsf.edu/cardio-oncology) are recruiting highly motivated candidates for a two-year post-doctoral fellowship. Our group has identified novel syndromes of immune-medicated cardiac damage (Manuscripts in New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Lancet Oncology, Circulation) and has generated pre-clinical models that provide novel insights into how dysregulation of immune cells can lead to inflammatory heart disease (Manuscripts in Nature, Science Translational Medicine, Cancer Discovery, Circulation). These findings have led to novel drug developments for inflammatory heart disease which our group is now testing in patients (Manuscripts in New England Journal of Medicine, Cancer Discovery). The Moslehi laboratory is well-funded with multiple NIH grants and growing partnership with industry. The post-doctoral position will be uniquely positioned to carry out experiments the elucidate the immunobiology of the cardiovascular system – specifically in inflammatory heart disease – and will develop novel therapeutics for cardiovascular disease.

 

Eligibility Criteria

A completed PhD in immunology, molecular biology or related field

At least one first author publication in a basic/mechanistic area of biology

Communication skills in written and oral English

Enthusiastic, self-motivated and ability to lead complex basic and translational projects

Ability to work with a dynamic team spanning very basic to clinical group within our Section of Cardio-Oncology & Immunology
