About the role
Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Research Associates to work on a research project entitled “Small molecule inhibitors for the oncogenic transcription factor LMO2”, working under the supervision of Professor Angela Russell for a period of up to 18 months. This project is funded by Kodiform Therapeutics and is carried out in close collaboration with the group of Professor Terry Rabbitts (Institute for Cancer Research) and the University spin-out company Kodiform Therapeutics. The project involves the development of small molecule inhibitors of LM02 as a new therapeutic approach for LM02-dependent T cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (T-All)
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary collaboration with world leading researchers and contribute to the development of an innovative new therapeutic approach for T-ALL, an area of significant unmet medical need.

About you
Applicants must hold a PhD in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or Chemical Biology or a related area (or be close to completion prior to taking up your appointment).
You will have expertise in modern organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry and drug discovery/development. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work for presentations, publications and deadlines. You will test hypothesis and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources, reviewing and refining working hypothesis as required.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory and is available from 1 September 2024.
