Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced and skilled Powder Coater to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in powder coating processes, ensuring high-quality finishes on a variety of metal products. This role involves preparing, coating, and inspecting metal components to meet production and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare metal surfaces for powder coating, including cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary
- Operate powder coating equipment to apply powder coatings to metal parts and assemblies
- Monitor the curing process to ensure optimal coating performance and adherence
- Inspect coated products for uniformity, coverage, and defects, making necessary adjustments
- Maintain and clean powder coating equipment and booth to ensure proper operation and longevity
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production schedules and quality standards
- Record and report production data, including material usage and process parameters
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues with coating processes and equipment
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and product quality
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a powder coater or in a similar coating role
- Familiarity with powder coating equipment, processes, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in powder coating
- Physical stamina and strength to handle coating equipment and materials
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in powder coating is a plus
Work Environment:
- Monday-Thursday 2nd shift ( 4:00 pm-2:30 am) Full-Time
- Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, heat, and other industrial conditions
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided and required
