Our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service are looking for a registered HCPC Practitioner Psychologist to join them in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse client group. Your role will be to grow and support the team’s ability to respond effectively to individuals’ past trauma, help build motivation and develop resources to assist people to change the way they think, feel and behave.Main duties of the jobAs a Practitioner Psychologist, you will join the service to support them in radically improving people’s chances of recovering from the negative effects of substance use by directly offering effective, evidence-based psychological interventions and by supporting and supervising the service’s frontline staff to improve the quality of their psychosocial interventions. As part of your role, you will hold a specialist caseload of service users with co-existing substance use and mental health needs, including trauma. You will liaise with referrers, GPs, and other professionals and multidisciplinary teams.About usEveryone should feel comfortable getting the support they need for issues with drugs, alcohol or mental health.
