DNV’s Maritime Advisory SEAPI team is part of the Decarbonization and Performance Advisory department within the independent unit Maritime Advisory in DNV. The team is focusing on consultancy services for the maritime industry in Southeast Asia, Pacific, and India. We are dedicated to addressing the industry’s challenges and providing innovative solutions that empower clients to achieve their goals. While our primary focus is on serving the local market needs, we also collaborate with experts globally to cover wide topics such as decarbonization, technical advisory, safety, and risk management. Maritime Advisory’s mission is to empower clients with innovative solutions and expert guidance to address the maritime industry’s challenges. Our goal to be the world’s leading maritime advisor, renowned for cutting-edge competence and knowledge that shapes the future of safe, sustainable, and digitalized shipping. The position is based in Singapore, with potential travel in the region to support clients or for collaboration with team members located in India and Australia. Key stakeholders include shipowners, charterers, cargo owners, ports, governmental and defence entities, shipyards, financial institutions, energy suppliers, and maritime technology providers. Our current consulting focus in Singapore is on maritime decarbonization, alternative fuels, technical integrity, ship operations and sustainability.

As a Principal Consultant, you will play a critical role in leading service enhancement, sales efforts, and project delivery, with a strong focus on driving consultancy activities and expanding DNV’s market presence in Singapore and southeast Asia. This includes securing projects, supporting junior team members in bids and delivery, and fostering strong client relationships. The role is central to the “seller-doer” model, where you are expected to contribute to both business acquisition and project execution. In addition, you will mentor team members, leveraging your extensive consultancy experience to enhance their capabilities and the team’s overall performance. You will be taking a leading role towards key customers in the maritime industry with a focus on sales, project management and delivery. Key responsibilities will be in securing and leading projects utilizing advanced tools, data and data analytics to enhance processes and make better strategic decisions for our clients.   • Educational Background: Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of consultancy experience, with a strong track record in project management and sales.
  • At least 5 years within the maritime industry in Singapore, with a well-established local network.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Beneficial with international consultancy experience working with and for different nationalities
  • Strong stakeholder management, business development, and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and results driven.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Agile and collaborative mindset, with an openness to learning.
  • Other Requirements: Possibility and willingness to travel regionally as needed. Eligible for working in Singapore
