Front End Innovation (FEI) within CTO is responsible for FE technology development in our internal wafer fabs as well as for the selection, specification, and certification of Foundry technologies. Within the High Voltage team, the focus is on technologies for high voltage and power applications for our Advanced Analog business.
The device/integration engineer works closely with design teams and the wafer fab to understand requirements and capabilities. They develop the process or devices accordingly, prove manufacturability and reliability, and qualify for production. In case the process is adopted from a foundry, the device engineer understands the process flow, design rules, and device function; can spot opportunities for improvement or weaknesses and can drive actions with the relevant stakeholders. The device/integration engineer certifies the process and devices for use in commercial products.
Responsibilities:
- Specify, verify, and certify HV and analog processes and devices; close interaction with IC designers to translate their circuit requirements into individual device requirements.
- Prepare technical engagements with foundries to drive them in developing new technology or delivering the right information for NXP designers.
- Design high voltage devices through process and device simulations; develop test-structures to evaluate and characterize these devices.
- Serve as a consultant to design engineers, enabling them to make optimal use of the technology and available devices in their IC designs.
- Propose device and process usage and alternatives.
- Troubleshoot new product issues such as yield loss or qualification rejects.
- Benchmark different devices and process technologies both internally and in foundries to drive the above actions.
Minimum requirements:
- MS or PhD in electrical engineering or physics
- 10+ years of working experience in analog/high voltage
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in analog/HV devices and/or process integration.
- Experience and deep understanding of device design, modeling, TCAD and manufacturing.
- Understand the basics of analog circuit design.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to take initiative and drive results.
