Procurement Attorney in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are in search of a Procurement Attorney to be a part of our team in CHICAGO, Illinois. Operating within the government industry, your role will mainly involve reviewing and advising on contracts at various stages, attending meetings concerning the contracts, and contributing to discussions on prospective contracts and solicitation language. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Review and provide advice on contracts at different stages

• Engage in meetings with multiple departments to discuss existing and upcoming contracts

• Contribute to discussions on the language of contract solicitations

• Negotiate terms of contracts to protect the best interests of our organization

• Leverage experience in procurement contracts to ensure agreements align with industry standards and regulations

• Respond to FOIA requests when necessary, utilizing prior experience for efficient handling. Requirements • Possession of a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Current license to practice law in the state

• Demonstrated expertise in procurement processes

• Proficient understanding of commercial contracts

• Proven experience in contract law

• Familiarity with government procurement practices and regulations

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills

• Ability to provide legal guidance and advice on procurement-related matters

• Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on providing effective legal solutions

• Ability to work effectively within a team and independently

• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• High degree of ethics and integrity

• Strong analytical skills and meticulous approach.
