THE ROLE

The Production Co-ordinator is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the production of core promotional assets for the EMEA Creative team. They will manage an individual or a number of feeds co-ordinating the production of new promos, campaigns, reversions, navigation, social and digital assets and branding elements. 

Day to Day 

  • Attend the monthly make list, production, kick off and scheduling meetings, ensuring that information is accurately communicated and managed through post production.
  • Generate relevant documents for the production process (e.g. Live Status Doc).
  • Lead weekly core Production meetings. 
  • Secure appropriate resources for promotions. 
  • Manage the flow of information as to what is a reversion versus new commission.
  • Plan timelines and manage all post-production sessions across the allocated feed for new promos, reversions and navigation items ensuring all relevant content is ordered and ingested. This includes managing the localisation process.
  • Ensure that post production staff and external agencies receive all relevant material and that any changes to schedules are communicated.
  • Ensure that the commissioned monthly promos are produced and that any schedule changes are made. 
  • Ensure all work is technically and content compliant, working closely with the BBC compliance team.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all key departments are kept informed of production activity.
  • Update monthly cost reports with accurate spend information and produce production budgets for complex non-core work. 
  • Develop and maintain office and administrative systems including ensure the organisation of the shared drive, ensuring all material received is filed correctly and that creative/freelancers label their projects and save scripts correctly.
  • Manage timely delivery to Playout flagging any concerns with late delivery to the relevant parties.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

Key Criteria

  • Experience of working as a Team Assistant, Production assistant or Production Co-ordinator within a Creative department.
  • Experience of booking audio and edit suites / talent/ filming crew.
  • Familiarity with broadcast standard equipment and post production procedures.
  • Ability to prioritise a conflicting workload efficiently whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail when working to deadlines.
  • Experience of maintaining office systems and following administrative procedures, and of devising new systems where appropriate.

Desirable

  • Ability to assess risk. 
  • Experience of maintaining and updating budgets. 
  • Ability to use proficiently a range of software packages including Word, Excel and Outlook, the aptitude to learn new software packages where required.
  • The ability to handle confidential information with tact and sensitivity.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team.
  • Resilience and stamina to sustain performance when under pressure from a high volume of work and conflicting priorities.
  • Flexible and innovative approach.
  • An interest in and enthusiasm for the work of BBC Channels.

Salary: If a range is being advertised: £25,500 – £30,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Contract type: Permanent Role 

Location: Office Base – London (Television Centre). This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working.
