position Summary:

The Shipping Associate position is responsible for transferring finished product from the freezer onto refrigerated trucks.

Essential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:

Using a sit-down forklift, pull product out of the blast and place it in freezer racks, and load/unload trucks.

Use a hand-held scanner to scan the product into the inventory system.

Using a wrapping machine, wrap products on pallets to specifications.

Ability to work safely at sub-zero temperatures (to -40 F) for periods of up to 2 hours.

Must be able to become certified forklift.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Follows all safety, USDA, and GMP policies and guidelines.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions & policies.

Responsible for maintaining punctual and regular attendance during scheduled work hours.

Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate strong leadership skills.

Must be able to use basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

I must be willing and able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Physical Requirements:

Standing 8 – 10 hours per day.

Operating powered industrial equipment.

Lifting to 50 lbs.

Possible bending, stooping, twisting, and squatting.

Working Conditions/Department Description:

May work in a damp and cold environment

Work with loud and noisy machinery

Work in a dusty environment

Work with chemicals or Fumes

Job assignments are subject to the supervisor’s discretion, and job duties may vary from day to day depending on production needs.
