- Develop and manage production schedules and workflow processes to minimize overtime and maximize productivity.
- Conduct shift bids as required.
- Oversee the completion of the annual vacation bid process.
- Monitor daily schedule adherence and communicate any issues or concerns to management.
- Maintain and update the proprietary Abassus production system to reflect changes in customer demand and ensure operational efficiency.
- Prepare daily production reports and Critical Control Point (CCP) documentation.
- Lead daily production activities on the shop floor in the absence of the Production Supervisor.
- Ensure workforce accountability and confirm that employees have the necessary tools and resources to meet production goals.
- Guarantee food readiness times are met for the Assembly and Pick-Pack processes to ensure on-time distribution.
- Monitor and improve all financial productivity targets, including labor, overtime, food waste, and meals per labor hour.
- Address quality and production issues promptly.
- Generate reports analyzing production performance and findings.
- Provide direction, support, and oversight to production supervisors to enhance team effectiveness.
- Proactively resolve employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Oversee rotation of bulk food and finished products using FIFO (First In, First Out) methodology.
- Manage new product and product refresh launches, including batching, yield validation, schematic updates, staff training, and communication.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review production performance, safety practices, and hygiene standards.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP standards and maintain accurate related documentation.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure scheduled preventive maintenance is completed, report maintenance and repair issues promptly.

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience in food service is required.
- Minimum of 4–5 years of experience managing a food production environment.
- Strong knowledge of food industry quality, sanitation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.
- High attention to product quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.

Work Environment
This position is located in a food manufacturing facility and involves working in areas that may be cold, hot, humid, or noisy. The environment includes exposure to strong food odors, allergens, and moving equipment. Employees must follow strict sanitation and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work may take place on wet or slippery surfaces. Schedules may include overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
Physical Demands
The physical requirements for this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (8–12 hours per shift), often on concrete or other hard surfaces.
- Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs. (occasionally more with assistance or equipment).
- Repetitive Motions: Use of hands and arms for repetitive tasks such as packing, sorting, or operating machinery.
- Reaching/Bending: Frequent reaching overhead, bending, stooping, and crouching throughout the shift.
- Manual Dexterity: Use of fine motor skills for tasks requiring precision and coordination, such as operating controls or using small tools.
- Climbing: Occasionally climb ladders or stairs to access equipment or elevated workstations.
- Visual Requirements: Ability to visually inspect products, labels, or equipment for quality and safety standards.
- Auditory Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, machine sounds, and verbal communication in a noisy environment.
- PPE Use: Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, hair nets, earplugs, safety glasses, steel-toe boots) for the duration of the shift.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Standard hours and days of work may vary based on production schedules and operational needs. Evening, weekends, and holiday work may be required.
