Thermal Technician performs manufacturing duties for new or existing products according to standardized procedures and/or established work instructions. This includes equipment setup and operation, execution of the daily production plan, minor maintenance functions, quality inspections, execution of EHS checks and reporting, and WCM/continuous improvement project execution. Reports to Production Supervisor, dotted line to Shift Lead.

• Basic and routine aspects of operating thermal equipment (i.e. kiln) at the plant level scale.
• Required to maintain a clean work area and be knowledgeable of and adheres to all established environmental, health and safety procedures and policies.
• Night shift: Required to work a 12hr shift on a split week schedule.
• Perform and Document routine process checks to ensure OEE, maintain autonomous maintenance responsibilities, ensuring systems are operating within parameter for the purpose of identifying early indications of trouble or failure.
• Perform routine Raw Material/Finished Goods Quality and Environmental Checks. Maintain electronic database of results.
• Load Raw Materials, Package Finished Goods according to Product Setup
• Backfill operator positions during employee absences, vacations etc.

Is this job for you ?

• High School diploma or equivalent to include math and science courses
• At least 5 years of manufacturing experience which includes operations, experience in WCM and/or continuous improvement and continuous operations experience required. Experience in a maintenance environment preferred.
• Willing to accept 3 years’ experience with an associate’s degree.
• Analyze and interpret quality and production data to make adjustments and decisions during the shift to maximize personnel safety, product quality and plant performance.
• Experience with ISO certification, HSE compliance and team building.
• Must perform intermediate math operations, including use of decimals, fractions and S.I. units, Unit of Measure conversions
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Capable of applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Pushing /Pulling/Lifting Requirements 50 LBS
