Productization Specialist

As a Productization Specialist, you’re a key resource for efficient productization with high quality and long-term profitable growth of ABB’s automation ecosystem. In these activities you will be collaborative with others in the PCP (Process Control Platform) and PA Division global product management teams, but also with sales and marketing, research and development, supply chain, logistics, and our commercial processes department.

Productization of complex products like automation systems includes e.g. a reliable and ease of use sales configurator. You’ll take ownership of the quality and usability of our configurable products within the new, online PA Automation Sales Configurator. By validating product models from an end-user perspective, you ensure seamless releases and a top-tier user experience. When challenges arise, your detective mindset shines. You’ll investigate issues, support sales teams, and help shape the future of our configurator through continuous improvement and innovation. Your curiosity and close collaboration with Global Product Managers and the PA Sales Team will be essential to success.

– Enhancing our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools

– Defining online offerings with integrated configuration and dynamic pricing

This is a global role in which you will have day-to-day contact with colleagues all other over the world. This cross-functional collaboration provides a good overview of the whole PA organization and product portfolio, and you will also be part of an exciting growth journey ahead.

We are searching in following location with a hybrid work model (office presence is needed on regular basis): Malmo (SWE), Vaesteras (SWE), Ostrava (CZE), Bangalore (IND), Cleveland, OH (USA). You will be mainly accountable for:

• Ensuring completeness of productization activities within Gate process. Product Managers are accountable for product data correctness.
• Coordinating and supporting product managers on lifecycle and maintenance of products and offerings
• All PA Configurable Products released to CPQ Production, PCP as well as Division products. This includes scope of products, time to market and quality of user-experience and product correctness.
• Providing the overall understanding and best practices of how PA products are configurated in commercial back-end systems
• Ensuring internal training and supportive material is available as needed to support productization and sales configurator development
• Monitoring, adopting and improving the productization process in collaboration with other functions. This includes, but is not limited to, represent product management in development of new tools and business models by setting requirements, supporting the implementation, validating the result and support in change management.

• You are very results oriented, have an impeccable sense of quality, love to collaborate in teams, and have an analytical mindset.
• You enjoy a multifunctional environment, where aspects from sales, marketing, development and logistics need to be considered when finding the best overall solutions. However, your primary focus is always on our customers.
• Experience in Bid & Proposal using Configure, Price and Quote (CPQ) tools e.g. existing ABB Automation Wizard
• Knowledge of the PCP product portfolio and its configuration rules: 800xA, Symphony Plus, Freelance, Compact
• Awareness of data management in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems e.g. Windchill
• Master’s degree in business, engineering or IT, and have a few years’ experience in these areas.
