We are the education that students will take with them, no matter where the path may lead them.About the Professor, Mathematics:The successful candidate will teach and develop curriculum for a variety of core across multiple programs and credential levels at the college. A graduate degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, mathematics, engineering or physics is required. Experience teaching statistics at the degree or post-graduate level is an asset. In addition to teaching and assessing student progress and achievement, the candidate will also develop culturally competent, responsive, and relevant curriculum, design or revise specific courses, work collaboratively with colleagues, and participate in committees, applied research projects, and other department-wide, faculty-wide or college-wide initiatives. Teaching could be assigned at any Humber campus and in the online environment.QualificationsAbout you:Education:A graduate degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, mathematics, engineering or physics is required.Experience and Skills:In addition to the qualifications described above, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

• Experience with teaching statistics and mathematics at a post-secondary level to students in wide array of academic programs
• strong knowledge and application of current pedagogical principles
• engaging and effective teaching skills to help students achieve learning outcomes in both in-class and online adult learning environments
• ability to create an effective and innovative learning environment
• commitment to inclusive teaching and assessment practices, and applying a student-centred approach to all aspects of teaching and classroom management
• ability to coach, support, and manage the learning environment for a diverse group of students using culturally responsive, equity-informed pedagogies to support the creation of inclusive and welcoming learning spaces
• cultural competency to develop and deliver culturally responsive curriculum
• ability to foster innovation and positive change in all aspects of the professor role
• ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture

The following would be considered strong assets:

• · industry acumen and experience
• · experience teaching statistics at the degree or post-graduate level
• · a commitment to experiential learning, with the ability to provide examples from previous teaching and professional experiences
• · community or industry-based research or other engagement related to statistics and mathematics
• · online teaching and online course development experience
