Overview: DT Global is seeking a Program Associate (PA) to serve as a member of the home office project management unit (PMU) within DT Global’s Conflict Prevention, Stabilization & Transition Practice (CPST). CPST works to counter drivers of radicalization and promote stability to set the conditions for longer-term development via the implementation of programs with diverse governmental clients worldwide. The selected candidate will support the implementation of DT Global’s portfolio of projects with USAID and USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives (USAID/OTI), as well as business development for future awards.

The Program Associate (PA) provides essential coordination and support to project staff and reports to the Program Manager. The PA will be detail oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and focused on delivering outstanding support to our field teams, partners, clients, and beneficiaries.

Primary Responsibilities:

Project Delivery:

  • Provide day to day home office program management support and administration to ensure effective and efficient coordination between the home and field offices with minimal mistakes and moderate supervision.
  • Elevate requests for assistance from the field in a timely fashion (within 24 hours) maintaining regular communication.
  • Assist with project start-ups and closeouts including travel to the field as required, sometimes on short notice.
  • Assist in the recruitment, mobilization, and demobilization of short-term consultants and long-term project staff.
  • As required, assist in the orientation of consultants and staff to DT Global and project objectives, procedures, resources, and relationships; monitor processes to ensure that proper procedures and rules are followed.
  • Assist in tracking and documenting project deliverables and maintain deliverables calendar. Ensure that all project technical deliverables are formatted with proper branding requirements established by the contract, sent to the Development Experience Clearinghouse or the Prime Contractor, and properly archived in the home office filing system.
  • Schedule and compile agendas for meetings. Serve as a note taker as needed, including keeping track of action items.
  • Become familiar with relevant policies and procedures including: US and project host country laws and regulations; DT Global policies and procedures; USAID, U.S. Department of State, and other funder regulations; and be accountable for project compliance with these laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Track action items after annual program and compliance reviews are completed and provide support on remedial action, as needed.
  • Assist in the compilation of contract-related documents, including personnel approvals, subcontract modifications, and procurement actions ensuring consistency and accuracy with USAID, U.S. State Department, and other funder approval requests with oversight by Program Manager.
  • Copyedit project deliverables and as required, contribute to drafting and editing reports, success stories, articles, and other project documents.
  • Maintain project files and audit, as needed.
  • Process expense reports, make travel arrangements, monitor invoices and expenditures of consultants, subcontractors and beneficiaries for grants and contracts. Ensure all travel arrangements comply with USAID and donor regulations and DT Global policies Track and document donor approvals, trip reports, and other travel related information in project files.
  • Make entries into budget tracker, assist with the preparation of budget modifications, and assist with budget projections, as needed.

Technical Excellence

  • Analyze regional and country context relevant to assigned program(s).

Business Development

  • Participate in business development efforts including formatting CVs, preparing past performance references, charts, program summaries, and other proposal related tasks.
  • Prepare information needed for business development and DT Global communications materials such as charts, program summaries/brochures, and concept papers for current and future programs.
  • Attend relevant events in the Washington DC metro area and generate summaries for PMUs.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, including International Relations; Political Science; Government; Economics; Business; International Development, or a relevant combination of education and work experience required.
  • 1-2 years professional work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail along with strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel and work overseas on short term technical assignments up to 10%, sometimes on short notice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). Willingness to learn new software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience backstopping USAID projects, strongly preferred
  • International travel experience, either personal or professional
  • Field work experience, preferably in a developing country.
  • Fluency in another language, such as Portuguese, Spanish, French, or Arabic. Interest in and knowledge of the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Asia, and/or other relevant regions.

DT Global provides competitive, market-based salaries along with a collection of comprehensive employee benefits and experiences to create an attractive total rewards package. The salary range for this position is expected to be $50,833 to $55,917. Salary offers are made based on several factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, relevant education, certifications, skills, internal equity, market analysis, and business or organizational needs.
