Job Title: Project Co-ordinator- Refugee Youth Leadership Council
Reports to: Head of Programmes (Protracted Context)
Location: London – We have hybrid working practices, with three days per week in the office.
Contract: Contract/ Consultant- Two days per week- (two-year contract) for 48 weeks per year in 2025 and 2026

Role Purpose
Choose Love is seeking a dynamic and highly organised Project Coordinator to lead the establishment and operation of a Refugee Youth Leadership Council. This council will empower refugee youth by amplifying their voices, fostering leadership, and driving meaningful change within refugee communities and beyond. The role requires a motivated individual with strong leadership, strategic coordination, and partnership-building skills. This will be a fixed-term consultant contract for two years, and the successful candidate must be flexible to commence employment immediately.
Leadership & Strategy
● Project Oversight: Lead the coordination and management of all aspects of the Refugee Youth Leadership Council, ensuring timely execution and achievement of project goals.
● Strategic Planning: Collaborate with key stakeholders to shape the council’s mission, structure, and activities, fostering a youth-driven and impactful initiative.
● Safeguarding and Wellbeing: Work closely with Choose Love’s Safeguarding Lead to ensure all council activities prioritise participants’ safety, well-being, and inclusion.
● Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the project’s design and evaluation, collaborating with a dedicated MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) consultant to assess impact and outcomes.
Partnership Coordination
Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with Choose Love’s partner organisations to identify and recruit young refugee participants for the council, ensuring diverse representation. Work with national and international organisations working on campaigning and advocacy programmes on issues affecting refugee youth, to promote the youth council and identify engagement opportunities for young people.
● Council Meetings: Coordinate and manage monthly virtual council meetings, facilitating meaningful discussions and engagement.
● Residential Coordination: Plan and execute two in-person residential events, ensuring seamless logistics, impactful programming, and enriching participant experiences.
● Budget Management: Collaborate with the finance team to oversee the Youth Council’s budget and ensure efficient resource use over the two-year period.
Required Skills and Experience
● Project Management: Proven ability to coordinate multi-faceted projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery and measurable impact.
● Youth Engagement: Experience working with young people, particularly refugees or those from underrepresented communities, in leadership or participatory initiatives.
Safeguarding: Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and ability to implement best practices. ● Partnership Building: Demonstrated success in liaising with diverse organisations and stakeholders to foster collaboration.
● Event Coordination: Skills in planning and managing logistics for virtual and in-person events, including budgeting.
● Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at engaging with diverse audiences.
● Flexibility and Adaptability: Comfortable working in a remote role with occasional travel and adapting to the needs of a dynamic project.
Salary Benefits – £320 per day
