Project Consultant, Public Affairs, Thailand

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Project Consultant at APCO’s Thailand office will be responsible for supporting on various existing and upcoming projects. Specific responsibilities may include the following: 

• Media Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive monitoring of relevant news from local and regional outlets. Identify and highlight mentions of clients, key issues, and trending stories to ensure clients remain informed and responsive to the latest developments.
• Media Pitching: Develop story angles for clients and proactively pitch them to target media outlets. Secure media coverage and compile clipping reports to demonstrate the effectiveness of outreach efforts. Handle media liaison, media pitching, on-site events, and communications support to internal team members and clients.
• Support on event management: Support the development of an event concept and program, and perform tasks such as finding and booking venues, sending invitations, preparing briefing notes for clients, handling registrations.
• Policy Monitoring: Systematically monitor political and policy developments in Thailand by sourcing information from government websites, news outlets, and other relevant platforms. Develop concise and insightful reports to update clients on government priorities and their potential impact on client operations.
• Research and Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly reports for various clients on specified issues and undertake ad-hoc research tasks as required.
• Translation Services: Provide accurate English-Thai and Thai-English translation support for client materials, including media interviews, press releases, news reports, and social media content.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS 

Education: University degree or higher, preferred in Strategic Communications, Social science, Media Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field. 

Language: Excellent English and Thai translation, research, writing and editing skills. 

Working arrangement: Flexible. We have a workstation available, but it is not mandatory to be in the office. 

Experience:

More than a year of work experience in public affairs, media, public relations or corporate, social media operation. Agency experience is preferred.

• Be able to demonstrate excellent writing skills, with the ability to articulate messages clearly and in a style appropriate to target audience.
• . Be able to horizon scan for upcoming policy developments and monitor the political environment.
• Has good time management sense, communication skills, and proactive learning attitude.
• Self-motivated, efficient, responsible, flexible and adaptable to different tasks at hand.
