Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience, or
• University degree in social sciences, political sciences, psychology law, public policy, health or a related field from an accredited academic institution with a minimum of four (4) years of experience. ;

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience;
• Knowledge of budgeting would be an asset;
• Experience working in the areas of migration, voluntary return and reintegration, humanitarian response, project development and implementation, and/or public policy;
• Excellent ability in writing and drafting of reports;
• Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills;
• Ability to work under tight timelines;

Experience in liaison with national, regional and international bodies would be an asset

• Knowledge of Brazil, including socioeconomic and political context is an advantage.
• In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.
• Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to analyses complex problems and identify and convey clear, rapid solutions.
• Effective resource management skills.
• Strong general analytical skills.

• Fluency in Portuguese (oral and written)
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Advanced knowledge of Spanish (oral and written)

IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
