Project Coordinator-Iraq

Are you passionate about making a difference? Tearfund is looking for a dedicated Project Coordinator to manage our partnership and project portfolio in Iraq. In this role, you will work closely with the Programme Quality Director (PQD) to ensure the effective design, assessment, and monitoring of partner projects. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the delivery of Tearfund’s Strategy for Iraq while ensuring that all projects adhere to our Quality Standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Economics, Business, or other discipline relating to Livelihoods and resilience.
  • Experience in a similar role-specifically in managing Public Private Partnership. Very strong experience in resilience and livelihoods programming at both strategic and operational levels
  • Evidence of project cycle management experience, including strategic planning, budgeting, reporting, monitoring & evaluation
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating gender and diversity issues into programmes
  • Engaging with a variety of stakeholders and sharing learning
  • Strategic planning and thinking
  • Project management
  • Capacity development
  • Budget management

Also the ideal candidate should have:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a highly motivated team
  • Strong interest in Gender and Women’s Economic Empowerment programs
  • Ability to communicate ideas in a culturally-sensitive manner and conducive to their practical application especially in Sudan context with an ability to adapt and work within a multicultural, multilingual and multidisciplinary environment
  • Proven ability to gain respect of partner organisations, institutional donors and government representatives
  • Very good interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Mentoring and coaching skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English

Please note: This role will be based in Basrah, Iraq. Applicants must possess a valid passport/visa stating the right to live and work in Iraq.

Role is subject to funding availability.
