Mission

The Project Engineer will design and manage capital projects for all areas at the Clermont and Booker Noe Plants, in addition to providing technical support to the production and maintenance departments. The Project Engineer will be responsible for identifying and recommending improvements relating to processes and procedures.

Role Responsibilities

  • Identify potential cost savings or processes improving projects throughout the plants
  • Analyze and prepare cost justification for projects
  • Design and/or select equipment required for the plants
  • Manage installation of machinery at the plants
  • Control project costs within budget constraints
  • Document equipment and procedures necessary for projects
  • Provide troubleshooting support for difficult maintenance problems in bottling, shipping, processing, warehousing, distillery, etc.
  • Find solutions to reduce bottlenecks in all processes at both plants
  • Adheres to and promotes environmental health and safety as one of the organization’s business priorities
  • Accept other duties as assigned
  • Manage projects from initial scoping through construction using stage gate process

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years experience in project management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in automation project design, installation, and operation.
  • Previous experience working in the food processing or chemical industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated strength in problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD drafting.
  • Ability to read and produce flow diagrams and PID’s.
  • Ability to work independently to develop project scopes, schedule meetings, coordinate contractors, outlook progress and modify actions as necessary to maintain schedules, track spending and expenditures and perform all other activities necessary for proper project management.
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill required.

Additional Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a valid driver’s license, for driving to remote plants.
  • Must be able to walk moderate distances – up to one mile.
  • Must be able to tolerate extreme heat and cold for short periods of time.
  • Must have adequate vision to take field measurements, use computers, and read drawings and maps.
  • Must be able to stay on work site for extended periods of time when required.
  • SAP, HACCP, and ISO or Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PLCS, Operator Interfaces and VFD’s
  • Working in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Process, Packaging, or similar Engineering from an accredited Engineering College preferred.
  • A four-year degree in engineering technology with appropriate experience may be considered.
