Project Overview:

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.

Job Summary:

The Project Information Management Systems (PIMS) Software Developer is responsible for all software development activities within the Information Management System (IMS), which is an essential element of a successful large, complex projects. This effort will require collaboration and integration between internal and external stakeholders encompassing virtual design and Building Information Management (BIM) integration for the project. This position is located at the Project’s Warsaw, Poland office.

The Software Developer will work within the Project Information Management (PIM) team to facilitate the integration of systems and data environments between internal and external systems to ensure productivity efficiencies are maintained for the project. In doing so, the development analyst will work with the project team to develop, assist and automate environments to enhance work processes. The development analyst will take direction from the Project Information Manager or their delegate. 

Major Responsibilities:

As the PIM Software Developer on the project, you will undertake necessary development efforts to ensure the project’s information management system and Common Data Environment (CDE) is delivering on the project execution goals. You will,

• Assist with the development efforts necessary in enabling and ensuring the CDE delivers on the project objectives.
• Be the PIM development point of contact for the Warsaw office and engage in development efforts to enhance productivity by interfacing directly with the PIM Senior Business Analyst
• Works closely with the IT manager through the design, testing and production deployment of development enhancements associated with the CDE or project tools.
• Assist and undertake development efforts necessary to ingest data into and deliver (both graphical and non-graphical) information from the CDE to satisfy project data centric execution objectives.
• Work with and assist the PIM Reporting Lead to accomplish development needs to satisfy project reporting requirements associated with specific applications and/or the CDE.
• Continually seeks ways in which the Project Information Model reporting can be utilized to support the project and drive efficiency in processes by collaborating actively with different department/functions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least 6 years of professional experience, or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 10 years of professional experience.
• Must be able to pass nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility.
• 2 years experience with Microsoft Power Apps/Power Bi
• Experience with code repositories and versioning control
• Experience with Agile project management techniques

Level 1

• Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Level 2

• Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Advanced knowledge in the following technologies with a minimum of 3 years of experience in at least one area:
• Hands on database experience –MS SQL server, Graph/neo4j, Oracle
• Proven experience with SQL and T-SQL
• At least one modern front-end web framework eg. REACT, Angular
• JavaScript, Perl, Python
• C# ASP.NET MVC, WEB API
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work and adapt to changing work schedules.
• Strong time-management skills
• Sound automation or Information Systems experience with a passion for implementing new and innovative business analysis processes.
• Experience with software/application development especially to support Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) activities
• Experience working within the EPC functions, or a strong project-led understanding of cross-functional EPC work processes and the business analysis applications used for project execution.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain new business analysis processes and technologies to all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated individual with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work without direct day to day oversight.
• Ability to manage priorities and take on additional evolving responsibilities with demonstrated experience providing direction to and supervising a team.
