Overview

The Project Manager II is responsible for managing and coordinating projects within the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and driving the successful delivery of power-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong project management expertise, a deep understanding of the power sector, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

Project Management and Execution:

• Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of power sector projects within the PMO framework.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

PMO Governance and Standards:

• Implement and enforce PMO methodologies, processes, and best practices across all projects.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project performance and adherence to PMO governance standards.

Resource and Budget Management:

• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
• Coordinate resource allocation across multiple projects to optimize efficiency.
• Track expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets.

Risk and Issue Management:

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful delivery.
• Proactively address project issues and escalate them to senior management when necessary.
• Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.

Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration:

• Serve as the primary liaison between project teams, clients, and PMO leadership.
• Facilitate regular project meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and status reports.
• Generate detailed reports and dashboards for PMO leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project progress and performance metrics.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities to improve PMO processes and project delivery methods.

• Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the PMO.
• Mentor junior project managers and team members, supporting their professional growth.

Qualifications

education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a
  related field.
• Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Engineering) is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) are highly desirable.

experience:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in the
  power sector or energy industry.
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects within a PMO environment.
• Experience in managing large-scale infrastructure or energy projects is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar
  tools).
• Strong knowledge of PMO frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
• Familiarity with power sector operations, including generation, transmission, and distribution.

Soft Skills:

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to influence and negotiate.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage competing priorities.

Industry Knowledge:

• Understanding of power sector regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Awareness of environmental, safety, and sustainability considerations in the energy
  industry.
