The project officer will work under the technical supervision of the Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) and under general guidance from the Director of ILO Jakarta. He/she will closely coordinate with the two national project coordinators (NPC) leading the Indonesia component of the project, especially on OSH. The incumbent will work closely with ILO constituents and other relevant on-going ILO projects and programmes in Indonesia. He/she will receive technical support from the relevant DWT specialists based in Bangkok, including the OSH specialist, gender specialist and labour inspection specialist, and programmatic and operational support from the Programme and Operations Officer based in the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific.
Description of Duties:
- Coordinate the development of training and capacity building activities and support mate-rials and ensure that they are applicable to the needs of the sectors/partners.
- Support the design, development and implementation of capacity building strategies for implementing partners.
- Lead the development of innovative tools to utilise in capacity building work.
- Conduct trainings, seminars, workshops and meetings with a view to increasing required skills and knowledge.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Provide inputs on the results framework of the project, particularly in measuring progress and impact of capacity building efforts.
- Brief ILO specialists, project experts, associate experts and visiting officials and provide relevant information on capacity building activities.
- Act as focal point within the project on technical support to capacity building to respond to requests from the constituents and other partners.
- Represent the ILO in meetings and facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing between organizations.
- Perform other relevant tasks requested by the Chief Technical Adviser or National Project officers and the Director of the ILO Office in Jakarta.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- At least a university degree in social sciences, development studies, or related fields with demonstrated expertise or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- At least two years’ work experience in a training or capacity-building role, including one year with an international agency (particularly in the field of labour standards compliance, occupational safety and health and/or gender equality) or other relevant fields.
Languages:
- Excellent command of English, especially ability to draft reports in English. Excellent command of Bahasa Indonesia at the professional level.
