Community Consortium Uganda (CCU) has operated in Uganda since 2006, supporting humanitarian and development projects. Our expertise includes Health system strengthening, primary healthcare service delivery, community-facility linkages, local capacity building at all levels of the health system, health financing, resource mobilization, management and leadership capacity strengthening for refugee-led NGOs, SBCC, strengthening of community structures, social mobilization, and gender, adolescent girls, and women’s empowerment programming

CCU has partnered with War Child Holland to deliver evidence based TEAM UP, Be There & EASE mental health project in Kyaka II refugee settlement. The project is being implemented through local organizations, aiming to deliver Preventative therapy and Children in distress offering protection services to extremely vulnerable individuals such as separated and unaccompanied children, adolescent girls, women-headed households, individuals at risk of suicide and persons with disabilities. This action will primarily address urgent needs under Gender Based Violence, Child Protection, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support

The post holders will be responsible for mobilizing, implementing, coordinating and reporting project level work. The suitable candidates will be responsible for implementing both BeThere and EASE methodologies under the Pamoja Tunaweza project, including attending relevant meetings involving key stakeholders and various platforms engaged on the mental health sector in Kyaka II refugee settlement.

Major Roles and Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of project cycle including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Ensure that the quality of the project is maintained through an effective monitoring system and that accurate data and information on best practices is documented
  • Ensure project narrative reports are prepared and submitted on time using donor reporting requirements
  • Track/monitor day-to-day progress against project milestones and activities, against scheduled work plans and overall project objectives
  • Work closely with Project partners and communities to disseminate and share best practises
  • Identify and make referrals for Project beneficiaries
  • Responsible for timely reporting and documentation of Project Success stories
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure budget is strictly adhered to, financial procedures are observed, and all supporting documents are provided

Qualifications, Skills and Competence required;

  • University degree in Social Sciences, Psychology or humanitarian response
  • 5 years’ work experience in an NGO environment implementing Mental health or Social Protection programs
  • Experience supporting implementing partners
  • Solid understanding of the mental health and psychosocial support in emergency response
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Expertise in compiling, producing and disseminating information
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of team
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the country and the region, if required

Special Requirements;

  • Knowledge and interest in adult/adolescent mental health, with keen interest on group therapy and facilitation skills will be an advantage
