Public Relations and Communications Specialist – Marketing

Job Summary
This role will work collaboratively to devise and implement public relations (PR) & communications strategy, under the guidance of the PR and Internal Communication Manager for the Americas and Oceania regions. This role will focus on internal and external communications, including PR campaign development and implementation, content creation and distribution, media relations (e.g., press materials and media pitching) and event support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and manages significant, effective, and quantifiable public relations and communications campaigns to support global marketing objectives and enhance the brand presence in the Americas region.
- Develops high-quality corporate communications materials in line with global guidelines, including but not limited to presentations, visuals, messaging, press materials, company statements, op-eds, company news, intranet stories, customer updates and social media posts.
- Supports senior spokespeople with PR activities, e.g. conference/event talking points, briefing books, executive speeches and media interviews.
- Works with communications colleagues in headquarters and around the world in a global press office function.
- Conducts competitive intelligence research on an ongoing basis.
- Identifies key conferences/industry events and, together with local management and global HQ, works to secure speaking opportunities.
- Provides other corporate communications support to local/national market needs, e.g., internal and external events and campaigns.
- Performs other PR & communications related duties, as required.
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media relations (either agency or in-house), preferably in a business-to-business environment.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or English, or comparable experience.
Key Competencies:
- Solid, hands-on exposure to core PR and corporate communications work.
- Strong writer and copy editor, and proficient presentation design skills.
- Comfortable drafting communication plans, reputation or issue-management briefs, and clear written pieces for internal and external audiences.
- Firm understanding of multichannel editorial content creation, development and distribution utilizing traditional PR, digital and social media platforms.
- Experience managing and coordinating projects with multiple work streams; excellent time management skills.
- Able to spot potentially sensitive topics and flag them to the right team, following company guidelines.
- Builds excellent working relationships with managers and senior leaders, offering practical PR advice when asked.
- Enjoys the pace of a busy, fast-changing environment and can adjust priorities quickly.
- Ability to work with Executives and outside stakeholders (e.g. vendors, media etc.).
- Proficient in MS Office Applications, including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn fast new tools & platforms.
- Excellent English; and other language skills related to the Americas region including Spanish and/or Portuguese also helpful.
