We are looking for a driven and dedicated individual to work in our purchasing department. This entry-level position is a perfect fit for anybody looking to start a career in the business world. Duties include:
• Select suppliers and negotiate terms to obtain materials and production in a timely manner.
• Purchasing of raw materials and finished goods.
• Solicits promotions, discounts, and markdowns from suppliers.
• Incorporate quality requirements into purchase orders to maintain high level quality standards.
• Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback.
• Monitor commodity pricing for raw material purchases.
• Identity and resolve problems with suppliers in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information.
• Provide assistance and training of SYSPRO software.
• Assisting other departments with various duties as assigned
Note: Previous experience working in purchasing/an office setting is NOT required, but will be taken into consideration.
• Good communication skills, high energy and a focused, positive attitude are highly desirable
• Strong listening, analytical and problem solving skills, adaptability, attention to detail and a willingness to learn are also beneficial.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (e-mail) programs
• Knowledge of SYSPRO is a plus
• Must be able to work independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability in supporting multiple projects simultaneously and working in a fast-pace, ever changing environment
