We are currently in need of a Purchasing Assistant at our facility in Stoughton, Wisconsin capable of supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is a Non-Union and hourly open position with periodic overtime. Primary Responsibilities
Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
Research potential vendors to find reliable and cost-effective suppliers.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Update internal databases with order details, including dates, vendors, quantities, and discounts.
Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and the best purchasing options.
Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices and terms.
Prepare cost analyses to determine the best purchasing decisions.
Maintain updated records of invoices, contracts, and other important documents.
Follow up with suppliers to confirm or modify orders as necessary.
Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition and meet quality standards.
Perform additional other assigned duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a task focused mentality.
Identify and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
Good understanding of supply chain procedures and procurement processes.
Previous experience in the steel fabrication industry and familiarity with materials used in construction.
