How you will contribute
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Group Leader position in the Quality Assurance department. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be responsible for leading associates in maintaining a safe, high quality, efficient working environment. Additionally, you will…
- Lead associates in maintaining a safe, high quality, efficient working environment
- Exercise a strong emphasis on Inspection methodology to drive short and long term improvements
- Complete daily Leader Standard work requirements
- Ensure all associates are following Inspection methods
- Order and maintain supplies and proper PPE for associates
- Ensure that all daily and weekly paperwork is completed and submitted.
- Measuring Equipment inspection
- Equipment issue reporting and follow-up
- Perform 2nd level inspection of gages that are found to be nonconforming on the production floor
- Maintain Gage calibration log with new and existing gages
- Schedule and maintain calibration activities with outside sources
- Employee Absence- Flex employees and/or fill in as needed to support continuous flow
- First Article Inspections
- Review product quality standards
- Audit Operator Standard Work
- Nominate recognition opportunities
- Perform training for new and existing Quality Technicians
- Test Resin shipments upon arrival and when needed on the production floor
- Perform Incoming inspections when needed
- Assist with Quality Manager projects when directed
What it takes
Required Qualifications
- Proven leadership skills (communication, accountability, coaching)
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Mathematical / technical competency
- Ability to lift 50lbs continuously without assistance
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, stand and walk
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in proven leadership skills (communication, coaching, and accountability)
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Knowledge of Gage management including calibration planning
